NEW ANNUAL AWARD AND CERTIFICATE DEFINITIONS

(Rules applicable as given in next section)



Master DXer Award




This is an annual award. This will be issued to top scoring DX operator after every calendar year as per rules. This is a time bound award. The eligibility for this award will start from 1st January of the year and will be open for points accrual till 31st December of each year. A new Master DXer Award" will be setup each year. The awards will be designated by the year. For instance, "Master DXer Award - 2016", "Master DXer Award - 2017" and so on. Each year 5 top scorers will be awarded with the designated award certificates.



Master DXer Milestone Certificated




There will be three sets of Milestone certificates which will be awarded to top qualifying DX operators after every quarter. These certificates are designated with the following titles. "Master Dxer Milestone Certificate - Q1 20xx", "Master Dxer Milestone Certificate - Q2 20xx" and "Master DXer Milestone Certificate - Q3 20xx". Here, 20xx stands for the year designator, while Q1, Q2 and Q3 stand for quarterly periods 1st Jan to 31st March, 1st April to 30th June and 1st July to 30th September respectively. The score tally of operators within the designated quarter will be computed as per rules to select winners for the quarter. Each of these Milestone Certificates will be issued to 3 top scorers every quarter.




RULES FOR MASTER DXER CERTIFICATES AND AWARD


1) These are time bound awards. Operators need to accrue points within the specified time-period.

2) Operators will need to work as per award rules on minimum 8 out of 11 HS4 HF bands of their choice during the award period to be eligible.

3) Any operator who worked less than 8 bands as per rules below will stand disqualified.

4) QSO between stations with a distance of less than 2000 Km will not be considered.

5) Only one QSO between any two stations in one calendar day per band will be considered.

6) QSO Points: 1 point for 2001-5000 Km, 2 points for 5001-10000 Km and 3 points for >10000 Km.

7) The point system stated above will be universally applicable for all HF bands on HS4.

8) At the time of final calculations, the following steps will be followed:

a) Points for each band will be calculated as per points rule given above.

b) Only top 8 of 11 highest (non zero) scoring band will be carried forward for further computation.

c) Scores of 8 eligible bands will be aggregated and averaged to arrive at "Ceiling Index".

d) The Ceiling Index (a.k.a clipping score) as derived above will be applied to each individual band score. If the score of any band is higher than Ceiling Index, then that band score will be clipped to the Ceiling Index.

e) The scores of 8 bands obtained after having applied the Ceiling Index wherever applicable will be aggregated again to arrive at the final score.

9) Winners will be declared based on the final score tallies.



Special Announcement




The Master DXer Award system will be operational for the 1st October 2016 which marks the beginning of the last quarter. All QSOs made by operators starting 1st October will be factored in for award computation. -- In 2016, the Annual award will not be issued since we only have 3 months left. however, a very special "Master DXer Milestone Certificate Q4 2016" will be issued to 3 top winners after the end of the quarter. This Q4 2016 certificate is a one time certificate only for 2016. From next year we will have Q1, Q2, Q3 and finally the grand annual award. -- Tighten your seat-belts and get ready for action to acquire this most prestigious award on HamSphere 4.0
